IWFL and USA Football Join Forces
 SA Football and the IWFL announced a partnership to promote women's football. USA Football is the national governing body for football in the United States. USA Football was endowed by the NFL and NFLPA in 2002. For the press release, click here.
Girls, Sign-up with the NFL!
 irls ages 13-17, team up with the NFL Youth Football Fund this Winter for the only NFL Clinic for Girls!
Sign up for 2 days of NFL Youth Football to be held at Giants Stadium in New Jersey on February 7th and 8th. The program runs Saturday 9am - 4pm (registration begins at 9am) & Sunday 10am - 4pm.
This NFL Clinic for girls will be coached by the Division Champion New York Sharks, women's tackle football team and its Free! Last year over 150 girls signed-up for the clinic.

Play For the Sharks
 o you love football? Have you always wanted to play but never got the chance? Your chance is coming as the New York Sharks will be holding tryouts for the 2009 season. On December 13th, the Sharks will be holding their next tryout for the season at the Kane Stadium in Secaucus, New Jersey from 9am to 12pm. We are looking for athletic women who love football and have the desire to help the Sharks get to the championship. No previous football experience is necessary.

The Sharks are one of the most highly visible women's football teams in the country. They have appeared in local and national media (television, newspapers, magazines), books, movies, and even the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Sharks in Sports Museum of America
 ew York Sharks owner Andra Douglas presented her football jersey to John Urban, the president of the Sports Museum of America in New York City on October 13th. The jersey of an IWFL team will be the first women's tackle football item to be permanently displayed at the museum which houses the Heisman trophy.

Sharks Honored in New York
 ndra Douglas, owner and former quarterback of the New York Sharks Women’s Tackle Football Team, briefs the audience about the team being chosen to compete in the World Cup International Flag Football Tournament. USA Football had chosen this longest established and most winningest team amongst over 80 tackle football teams as well as a vast number of flag football teams. They were the first American team to enter the tournament where the team took 5 of the 6 preliminary games despite the 20-1 odds. ...read more

Sharks at Giants Stadium
 or the fifth year in a row, the New York Sharks will be helping out the New York Giants. The Sharks will participate in the Giant's Fan Fest for season ticket holders at every Giant's home game this season. For the Giants schedule go to their website.
Shark All-Stars
 he IWFL announced their 2008 all-star team and 11 Sharks were named. Fatima Carvey and Lisa Doran were named to the first team and Jen Blum, Brooke McKinney, Karen Mulligan, Chrissy Pagan, Courtney Ray, Shauna Segers, Adrienne Smith, Lynn Trautz, and Wanda Williams were named as alternates.

This Week in Shark History

November 18, 2000 -
New York (4-1) won their third straight game in a row with a victory over the visiting New York Galaxy (0-4), 41-0 in a WPFL game. The upstate rivals could not match up against the downstaters as the Sharks scored early and often. Natalie Jufer and Val Halesworth starred in the game. Jufer with 2 touchdown runs and Halesworth with one touchdown run and a pass to Lori DeVivio. Overall the Sharks offense had over 400 yards for the day.
