Ever since I was a little girl I loved football. When I first got thenotice at school when I was 7 I came running home and said I wanted toplay for the town team. After much debate, it was decided that I wouldcheer instead…that didn’t last long. By my 3rd game cheering, myparents realized that this was not for me. I was continually turnedaround watching the game instead of cheering towards the crowd. Two years later, when I was 9, my parents decided to give in and letme play football. I still remember my first practice with the ElmwoodPark Bombers, being taught the holes, and my stance. I never doubtedthat that was where I was suppose to be.
I played up till 8th grade. I started on the OL, DL, and DE, alongwith being thrown into some other positions along the way. Before eachseason I would always watch Rudy and The Little Giants ritually. I was”the Icebox”. It was an amazing time and met some of the greatestcoaches I could have asked for.
Football has been apart of my life for as long as I can remember andit will always stay that way. Now that I get to become a part of afootball team again and play the sport that is #1 in my heart, neverhave I been more determined and focused to give this team everything I’vegot.
I now coach for the Elmwood Park Bomber football program, as a coachfor the senior team (7th/8th grade). I love every minute of it!
I would like to thank my family and friends for supporting me in allthat I do, without whom I would not be where I am today.
